Deere & Company made their first un-styled row crop tractor in 1929, to compete with the Farmall. It was a modified GP tractor, with adjustable rear axle track (distance between wheels on the same axle), and a narrow front end. In 1933, Deere & Company started experimenting with what would come to be known as the Model A. The new Model A went into production in 1934. The next year the Model B was introduced. It was one third smaller than the A, which made it ideal for smaller farms. A few years later, the Model G was introduced in 1937. It remained un-styled for several more years than the A and B. The un-styled tractors launched Deere & Company into the row crop farming market which they are still a major part of today.
