Hoorah. But do not relax local rules prematurely. Learn from the mistakes made by the U.K. and other countries.. It will help prevent new deadly strains that ignore the vaccine.. The US needs to take leadership and assist with the process in other countries in the hemisphere too. I am extremely disappointed in the CDC’s announcement today. We should have held the line just a little longer especially since not everyone is eligible for a vaccine yet. I have a 5 year old and a 1 year old, so this is very personal for me.. Show this again in a few weeks. The CDC’s new recommendations are a mistake! This is not an incentive for vaccine-hesitant people to suddenly decide to get vaccinated. Rather, most of those people will simply decide that they can now get away with refusing to wear masks, because they can just pretend to have been vaccinated. Low-wage employees have already taken verbal and physical abuse trying to police mask-wearing in stores and other places. That will only get worse in businesses that try to mandate mask wearing for everyone.
