From the outside, the Roland Sands Ridgeline jacket presents as a regular waterproof hoodie. Which is partly true. The jacket has a water-repellent finish, waterproof seams, a waterproof taffeta liner and 3 waterproof external access pockets. Dig a little deeper though and you’ll find a range of features tailored specifically to motorcyclists.
On the outside of the Ridgeline jacket, Roland Sands has used a mix of lightweight N66 Cordura. The tough tech fabric provides excellent abrasion resistance and it’s been applied in both 500D and 1000D densities; with the thicker of the 2 covering the jacket’s high abrasion zones. Off the shelf, the Ridgeline comes with a set of shoulder and elbow SAS-TEC flex armour which is both low profile and form-fitting. There is also a pocket for an optional back protector should you want to add one. These features combined have allowed the Ridgeline jacket to achieve a CE EN 17092:2020 – AA certified safety rating.
ne of the Ridgeline jacket’s key design features is its removable hood. This feature gives riders the option to go with or without the hood while on the bike. With the hood gone an inner, snap neck closure collar keeps the breeze at bay.
The sleeves of the Ridgeline jacket are pre-curved for improved riding comfort and the cuffs are adjustable and lined with a lycra inner cuff for extra rain and wind protection. Additional protection from the elements is provided by a wind flap that covers the entire length of the main YKK zipper.
